Ingredients:
Brownies:
(Use a boxed mix, or make homemade brownies with these ingredients)
– 1 cup butter (2 sticks), melted
– 2 cups granulated sugar
– 4 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/2 cup cocoa powder
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
Pecan Pie Topping:
– 1 cup light corn syrup
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 3 large eggs
– 1/4 cup butter, melted
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Brownies: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar, mixing until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, then stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined.
2. Pour brownie batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
3. Bake Brownies: Bake for 20 minutes or until the brownies are partially set (they’ll bake more with the topping).
4. Pecan Pie Topping: In another bowl, mix corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir in chopped pecans.
5. Pour the pecan mixture over the partially baked brownies, spreading it evenly.
6. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is set and lightly golden.
7. Cool completely before slicing into squares. Enjoy!
