The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

These Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft, chewy, and loaded with gooey chocolate chunks. Made with a mix of brown and white sugars and a hint of vanilla, they’re everything you want in a classic cookie. Perfectly golden on the edges and soft in the center!

Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips or chunks
Directions:

Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.

Chill the Dough: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight). Chilling helps to prevent spreading and enhances the flavor.

Bake the Cookies: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop the dough into 1 ½-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly underbaked.

Cool and Serve: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy warm or store in an airtight container.
